Farmington Hills, MI & Rugby, England — GSI
Lumonics Inc. (Nasdaq: GSLI and TSX: LSI) announces
the release of its new GUI (Graphical User Interface)
laser control software, which provides full control over
all aspects of operation for the company’s JK Series
of pulsed and continuous wave Nd:YAG laser systems. This
new GUI software increases ease of use while providing
three levels of password protection for data and operational
security.
Driven by the familiar Windows® operating environment,
the GUI is available in either a touchscreen
interface option or for use with a standard PC. The software
provides fast access to all laser parameters, I/O, data
logging, and networking features. Logged data is provided
in graphical and chart formats, greatly simplifying access
to performance, status, and setup tools for the system.
This data can be easily exported to proprietary software
packages. Tabbed pages allow quick selection of system
preferences, including user language and network options.
The user interface is currently selectable in English,
German, Italian, and French.
Remote modem diagnostics enable performance data to be
ported out to a service center for diagnostics and repair.
In addition, the system can be accessed over a network
by IP address and OPC connectivity.
The software is now available on GSI Lumonics’ new
JK Series of continuous wave and pulsed laser systems.
The software also runs on existing JK Series and other
previous systems. Field upgrades are available.
