Asymtek Introduces
the Axiom™ X-1010 Dispensing System
for High-Volume Inline SMT Applications |
|
Carlsbad, CA — Asymtek introduces the
Axiom™ X-1010, a mid-range, high-volume inline
dispensing system for SMT applications. The Axiom X-1010
is a completely new platform incorporating numerous
features that allow it to achieve higher levels of
performance and accuracy. It is ideal for applications
such as Surface Mount Adhesive (SMA), solder paste,
and electrically conductive adhesives.
Configured with Asymtek’s patented DJ-2100
DispenseJet® valve, the X-1010 system’s acceleration
(1 g peak) delivers industry-standard SMAs at rates
in excess of 30,000 dots per hour. Non-contact jetting
eliminates the need for mechanical needle standoff
and delivers precise dot volume repeatability.
When dispensing solder paste and conductive adhesives,
Asymtek’s DV-7000 Heli-flow™ pump provides
fast, repeatable dispensing of medium- to high-viscosity
materials using standoff nozzles and a floating head.
Its light-touch contact, coupled with under-board support,
provides precise z-axis positioning for fast, accurate
small-dot dispensing for 0402 components.
The Axiom
X-1010 system utilizes a Controller Area Network (CAN)
bus — an entirely new serial bus
architecture of distributed processors. This new bus
architecture provides for both increased control and
future expansion for new applications. Now, the Dynamic
Dispensing Control™ (DDC) microcontroller provides
precise control of valve motion and position.
The
Axiom X-1010 system comes with the latest version of
Asymtek’s Fluidmove® for Windows NT™ (FmNT)
software. Configured with CADImport software utility,
Fluidmove programs can be developed quickly and efficiently
offline using either existing CAD-generated data or
files from a component placement machine.
The Axiom
X-1010 system incorporates numerous other improvements
to many of Asymtek’s advanced process
control features, including a new integrated needle
calibration module, a new vision system with both red
and blue LEDs, and a redesigned height sensor. It can
also support both single or dual-valve small-dot dispensing
for a wide variety of fluids, processes and applications. Asymtek
supplies award-winning automated fluid dispensing systems
to the semiconductor, surface mount, electronics packaging
and industrial markets. Together, Asymtek and
parent company Nordson Corporation (NASDAQ: NDSN) form
one of the world’s largest businesses dedicated
to dispensing. Their unique partnering of applications
engineering and product expertise is a solid testimonial
of their commitment to offer total dispensing solutions
and local support to customers throughout the world. A
